Country Company - Farewell Tour 2012

Clive and Sandra are undoubtedly among the top half dozen most popular acts on the British Country Music scene. Over the past ten years they have received over 70 awards and have been voted British Country Music's "Most Popular British Duo" three times since 1994. After the early years, when they entertained in various guises - family groups, local concert etc. In 1979 they formed Country Company as a trio and spent the next ten years working all over the country as a semi-professional act.

Their workload became such that Sandra and Clive decided to take the plunge and become fully-professional in 1989. Since taking this big step, Country Company's popularity has gone from strength to strength, they have a great following all over the country. It is plain to see that they both really enjoy their work on and of stage whatever the occasion. Their choice of material and down to earth manner makes them a joy to watch and listen to and the banter between them is second to none.

Clive and Sandra have a great love for the business but never lose their professional attitude in entertaining their audience. This makes for an excellent evening's entertainment. They will be joined by a special guest during the show who will be bringing their own brand of music and comedy to the stage.

The Empire Theatre Halstead was revived as a place of entertainment in 1978 after a period of inactivity that stretched back to 1971 when the Foulconbridge brother's tenure came to an end. Halstead Town Council bought the building and then leased it to the Empire Theatre Trust with the intention of restoring the Empire Theatre as a place for local entertainment that had been the envy of many similar sized towns during earlier decades of the 20th century.

Today the Empire Theatre is fully independently run by the Empire Theatre Trust which is made up of a collection of enthusiastic local residents giving their time on a voluntary basis. Many forms of entertainment are put on at the theatre including tribute acts, 60s concerts, country music, comedy, drama productions and pantomime - all making great use of a state of the art lighting desk and new sound equipment provided by trustees. more
