Forces' Sweethearts

Forces' Sweethearts has been wowing audiences since 1995 and for 2012 their show will feature all the old favourites ~ Vera Lynn, Gracie Fields, Marlene Dietrich, Carmen Miranda and Anne Shelton.

The three sweethearts bring you a 2-hour show with all your favourite songs from the great vocalists who so helped raise morale during the wartime Forties. There’s a tribute to the demob sweethearts ~ Alma Cogan, Ruby Murray, Doris Day and Eartha Kitt. There’ll be a singalong with George Formby and his ukulele and songs from Flanagan and Allen. Not forgetting the Yanks ~ stars like The Andrews Sisters, Glenn Miller, Judy Garland and Deanna Durbin.

As always, this show is certain to have audiences singing along from beginning to end.

THE WEST CLIFF THEATRE & ARTS CENTRE is owned and administered by The West Cliff (Tendring) Trust, a registered charity, for the benefit of the community, and is supported by Tendring District Council.

Regular ART EXHIBITIONS are staged in the Theatre's Foyer. There is a LICENSED BAR serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, hot and cold bar snacks, teas and coffees.

The 590 seat theatre stages a broad variety of professional shows, in addition to many amateur and charitable productions. It is also home to the West Cliff Theatre Youth Group, a popular and highly successful, self funding, youth group. The West Cliff Theatre is proud of its close association with the local schools and regularly provides training, and rehearsal space, as well as staging their productions. The auditorium is also available, and regularly used, for professional show rehearsals. more
